GALAXY BLACK GRANITE — SPECIFICATION
Galaxy Black Granite is one of India's most prestigious export granites — a dense, fine-grained igneous stone quarried from the ancient Precambrian geological formations of Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan. Its hallmark is a lustrous jet-black base scattered with fine silver and white mineral flecks that catch the light like a star-filled night sky, lending the stone its evocative name. Formed under extreme geological pressure over billions of years, Galaxy Black Granite is classified among the hardest and densest natural stones commercially available, with outstanding resistance to abrasion, weathering, and chemical exposure. Its exceptional polish retention, dimensional stability, and uniformity of colour make it the granite of choice for monumental architecture, premium flooring, and precision stone fabrication worldwide.
Category: Granite Natural Stone
Color: Jet-black base with fine silver, white, and charcoal mineral flecks; highly uniform colour body
Surface Finish Available: Rough Block
Block Form: Raw Quarry Block
Texture: Fine-grained, crystalline; achieves a deep mirror polish; naturally rough on raw block surface
Density: 2.75 – 2.85 g/cm³ (Very high density; among the hardest commercially quarried granites)
Water Absorption: < 0.15% (Near-impervious — ideal for exterior, wet area, and heavy-traffic applications)
Compressive Strength: 200 – 260 MPa (Exceptional structural strength — suitable for monumental and heavy-duty use)
Abrasion Resistance: High — classified as extremely wear-resistant; suitable for high-traffic flooring
GANGSAW SUITABILITY
This block has been assessed as fully compatible with standard gangsaw processing equipment. The dimensions of L-300 cm × B-170 cm × H-140 cm are well within the optimal gangsaw processing range. Galaxy Black Granite's homogenous internal structure, absence of directional foliation, and consistent hardness throughout make it one of the most reliable granites for high-yield, low-waste gang-sawing operations.
Recommended Processing: Gangsaw slabs (2 cm & 3 cm), followed by calibration and polishing
Expected Slab Yield: Approximately 88–96 slabs per block (based on 3 cm thickness)
Polish Result: Deep mirror black finish with exceptional light reflectivity
